Aisling’s Journey
Aisling has always held a strong interest in people and in understanding how life experiences shape emotional wellbeing, identity and relationships. Having worked closely with individuals in various roles throughout her life, she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of feeling heard, understood and supported during times of challenge and transition.
Over time, she became increasingly aware of the impact that being truly listened to can have on a person’s confidence and emotional wellbeing. This recognition strengthened her desire to train professionally and offer a space where individuals could explore their experiences with depth and care.
Growing up in rural Mayo during the early 1990s, Aisling became aware of the barriers many individuals and families can face when accessing appropriate support and care. Experiences of neurodiversity and chronic illness within her family further shaped her understanding of how systems can both support and, at times, unintentionally hinder people seeking help.
These early experiences fostered strong values around inclusion, compassion, and the importance of accessible, responsive services. They continue to inform Aisling’s therapeutic approach, particularly in her commitment to working in an inclusive, collaborative, and client-centred way.
This longstanding curiosity about human experience, alongside her own personal growth journey, led her to pursue formal training in counselling and psychotherapy. Throughout her studies and supervised clinical practice, Aisling has become increasingly passionate about creating a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore difficulties, build insight, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

A Personal Note to Clients
You may feel drawn to working with Aisling if you experience anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, or difficulties in relationships and boundaries. You may also be navigating the impact of past experiences, loss, chronic illness, or significant life transitions.
Aisling’s approach is integrative, neuro-affirming, and collaborative. She aims to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients feel respected, understood, and met with curiosity rather than assumption. Sessions are shaped around each individual’s needs and may involve exploring emotional patterns, relational experiences, the influence of past events, and developing practical strategies for emotional regulation and everyday coping.
She believes that meaningful change often begins with understanding patterns rather than immediately trying to ‘fix’ them. By gently exploring emotional responses, relational dynamics, and internal beliefs, clients can begin to make sense of their experiences in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming.
She works at a pace that feels right for each client, recognising that therapy is most effective when it feels safe, empowering, and grounded in trust. Over time, clients are supported in building greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

Aisling remains committed to ongoing professional development, supervision, and reflective practice to ensure her work is ethical, compassionate, and responsive to each client’s individual needs.
