Kenneth’s JOURNEY

Kenneth Liddane

BA Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy  |  Diploma Hypnotherapy & Mind Coaching  |  Pre-Accredited member of IACP

Hi, my name is Kenneth Liddane. I am a qualified holistic counsellor & psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and mind coach. I am the founder of A Helping Mind and I am also a counsellor at East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support in Ballinasloe and St Catherine’s Counselling Service in Tallaght.

With a history in engineering, customer service, manufacturing, and design, counselling and psychotherapy was not an obvious choice in relation to career progression, but for me, it was the most natural.

I have experience helping individuals who struggle with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-confidence, low self-worth, stress, burnout, anger, trauma from emotional, physical or sexual abuse, loss and bereavement, life-changing diagnosis, carer burden, negative self-image and gender identity.

While my preference is to see clients face to face, I do offer counselling services both online and over the phone. You are welcome to book a free consultation, to ensure that I am the right therapist for you.

Kenneth’s Journey & Goals

Having suffered from depression in the past, it took me a long time to recover, or even seek help. Due to a lack of understanding, a perceived lack of options, a negative perception of therapy, with a generous helping of stubbornness thrown in, not only was the road to recovery hindered, but it also provided me with the unique opportunity to see how utterly debilitating it can be. It was a combination of this understanding, and a realisation that I needed help, that drove me to study the mind and to find out more about the unknown aspects about the unconscious.

From what I have learned and experienced throughout my life and in college, I can identify with individuals who are struggling with their mental health, and who are unaware of possible options that can help them out of a difficult situation. I also recognised that even a basic understanding of why we think, feel and behave the way we do, can help to ease the frustration and confusion that can be associated with understanding our own mental health, and realising our full potential.

This insight inspired me to write my first book, ‘Finding Happiness In The Dark’ and to launch my business ‘A Helping Mind – www.ahelpingmind.com’, where I have developed a platform to provide options, knowledge and support, through personal therapy, books, workshops and online courses for those in need. As my sense of curiosity and quest to find out more about the mind grows, I will continue to develop further services and resources to support individuals that are struggling with their mental health.

I incorporate a person-centred, holistic counselling and psychotherapeutic approach, integrating a number of therapeutic theories and interventions to best suit your needs, in doing so I provide a non-judgemental, empathic and safe space for you to be heard, valued and supported through whatever challenges you are struggling with. From our first session, you will see that I am down to earth, honest and open. As I get to know your unique challenges, environment and experiences, I become better able to support you in three key areas:

E

I provide coping mechanisms and skills to help relieve the impact of immediate challenges you are facing.

E

I help you to understand and become aware of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours develop.

E

I help you to develop lasting positive change as you realise your full potential.
